The last thing you want is to be stuck in the snow or stranded on the road in the middle of nowhere. To avoid this from happening, there are a few essentials you should consider keeping in your car this winter.
Jumper Cables
No matter what time of year, you should always keep jumper cables in your car. This won’t only be benefit you if your battery dies, but you may be able to help a stranger revive their car battery as well.
Portable Battery
Whether you need to call for help, look up directions to the nearest gas station, or want to waste time on social media until a tow truck shows up, your phone needs to be charged. A portable battery will allow you a full phone battery life and more to get yourself out of a sticky situation.
Blanket
If you get into an accident, stuck in the snow, or your battery dies, you and your passengers will need to stay warm until help arrives. Keeping an extra blanket or two in your vehicle will give you an extra layer of warmth while you wait.

A flashlight can help you see in the dark as well as alert oncoming traffic that you’re on the side of the road or to signal for assistance.

Keeping a small, portable shovel in your trunk can really come in handy if your car gets stuck in the snow. You can use it to dig out under your tires to free your car.
First Aid Kit
This should be in your car at all times. A first aid kit can provide a quick fix to a small cut or help with more serious injuries until proper help arrives.
